New challenge!

May 31, 2014

I declare June to be the "One ACEO a day" month!

Last January, I participated in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. It was tough, but fun.
I decided to end Spring with a new challenge. I'll be creating one ACEO each day of June, and will be posting them here, as well as on my Facebook page. Anyone interested is welcome to join me, and post their ACEO each day on my Facebook page, with a link to where the artwork is available for sale, if it is available, or a link to their website.

I can't wait to get started!

Tiger portrait, how to video.

May 31, 2014

I finally took the time to make the step by step video of the tiger:

Last week I finished a portrait of a tiger. I took pictures throughout the process, and made a couple of videos. I put them all together to make this little tutorial. Hope you like it.

The juices are back!

Although this hot and muggy weather is making me a bit too lazy!

I'm so glad I took that fun time off, a little while ago, to paint whatever I felt like. I started drawing animals again. I just listed 3, and I'm preparing a WIP (work in progress) of a tiger. I'll turn it into a video, and will share it with you.

In the meantime...

Last week I received some great news.

In September 2013, I sent out a painting to enter a juried art competition. It came back last week with a first prize. How exciting!
It's now ready to go to a good home.

A little break

May 9, 2014

To get my creative juices flowing again.

After I finished my last commission, a few weeks ago, I decided to take a little break from using my colored pencils. As much fun and challenging as custom work is, it can be a creativity killer sometimes. So I spent the last couple of weeks just using my brushes with watercolor and oil paints. Just for fun, painting what I felt like that day. Here are a few paintings I did:

Plumeria 12 - 5x7" - Watercolor - SOLD

Plumeria 13 - 8x10" - Watercolor - SOLD

I also finally finished this little one:
